Lawson Centre for Sustainability, Trinity College

University of Toronto, Ontario

RDHA and Mecanoo Architecten (Netherlands) are working together on the Lawson Centre for Sustainability located in the University of Toronto’s St. George Campus. This project will embody Trinity’s values of collegial sustainable living, creating a ‘living lab’ where students become both participants and benefactors creating healthy, low impact learning and living environments.

This four storey mixed-use project includes a 350-bed student residence and academic building with common facilities including a community kitchen, flexible work and study spaces, a cafeteria, seminar rooms, teaching and event spaces and a rooftop urban farm. Sustainability design targets include hybrid timber construction, Toronto Green Standards Tier 4, LEED Platinum and Zero Carbon.
