Lawson Centre for Sustainability, Trinity College

Toronto, Ontario

In association with Mecanoo

The new Lawson Centre for Sustainability, located at the University of Toronto’s St. George Campus, will embody Trinity’s values of collegial sustainable living, creating a ‘living lab’ where students become both participants and benefactors creating healthy, low impact learning and living environments.

The four-storey, mixed-use project includes a 350-bed student residence and academic building with common facilities including a community kitchen, flexible work and study spaces, a cafeteria, seminar rooms, teaching and event spaces and a rooftop urban farm. Sustainable design targets include hybrid timber construction, Toronto Green Standards Tier 4, LEED Platinum and CaGBC Zero Carbon Building (ZCB) Design v3 certification.
