RDHA is currently working with the Mississauga Public Library and the City of Mississauga on a major interior renovation of the Hazel McCallion Central Library, formerly known as the Mississauga Central Library. This is the first large-scale renovation to take place since the library’s opening in 1991. The Hazel McCallion Central Library is used for library services, and also houses the central administration and logistic support to all 17 branch libraries throughout Mississauga.
RDHA’s design process involves the renovation of all five floors of public and staff space as well as a broader exercise of master planning both the interiors and exterior of the facility to solidify the building’s position as the ultimate library destination within the city, to provide a venue for cultural and social events and new potential for innovation and celebration.
